I am in a process of discovering how to live the adventure of Christian Life in the world, and find myself re-examining many aspects of daily life post-community; what I wear, what I watch, what I read...

I like reading. I have always like reading. And there was a time when I would read absolutely anything I could get my hands on. However, I now find that I struggle to find books which interest me. I have read a lot of the 'classic' Catholic novels (In this House of Brede is my all-time favourite book and my comfort re-read, although sadly my copy is currently stranded in Peru) and fictionalised biographies of the lives of the Saints (of which Tyler Caldwell's Dear and Glorious Physician remains my favourite even if it does go a bit weird in the middle). My reading tastes are fairly eclectic...it's just that the light fare I once consumed is either no longer satisying or leaves a bad taste. Basically, I'll read anything, but I'm hungry for more than just a story.
So, here are my (entirely subjective) thoughts on the books I have read, hopefully spoiler-free.

The Catholic Guide to Depression - Aaron Kheriaty, MD
Read this book.

Why? - Sharon Dirckx
A book that might not help you but might help you help someone else make sense of evil and suffering.

Zlata's Diary - Zlata Filipović
The greatest form of suffering is not knowing God's love.

The Song at the Scaffold - Gertrud von le Fort.

Comments will almost certainly be published, but it would be nice if they included things like capital letters and full stops, and didn't include text speak.
